Hoth Leia, Padme Nightgown and Dorothy updates

This weekend is Horrorfest; I’m trying to get Hoth Leia finished for it. I worked a little bit last night, but the sewing machine was being horrid to me so I quit (I swear, the needle came unthreaded three times in the space of, like, 5 minutes. The last time I just quit. I had been up since 5:45 yesterday, so I wasn’t in the best mood to begin with.) Tonight I will get a lot done.

To-Do:
Sew on the two panels on the front
Make and sew on the pocket.
Finish hemming the sleeves/front.
Make/attach collar.

The first three I can definitely get done tonight – tomorrow I will probably dedicate to the collar.

On the nightgown, I’m at the same place I was last week. I would like to have it done for this weekend, but I don’t know if that’s possible. It’s not a big deal.

To-Do:
Hem the other drape.
Attach drapes
Paint brooch.
Attach straps
Hem dress
Finish pearl strands/attach them.
Figure out the trim.

Dorothy is still out there… pieces cut out. I got a pair of ruby slippers this weekend, just the cheapo costume ones. For some reason the sequins stop a good inch before the bottom of the shoe, so I bought sequins to fill in that area, and also to put on the heels. Next week is dedicated to her, because I’d like to wear it Halloween night.

In other news, I finally found a fabric I like for ceremonial Leia. I bought it (yay 40% off coupons), so after Halloween I can start on that. I also decided to make something I had originally said I wasn’t going to – another Belle dress, this time the pink one with the cape she wears in the snow/winter scenes. I want to do it primarily for the cape LOL

I just came to realisation that I have far too many project at t he moment… well I guess that’s the fun of the winter months, can’t go outside, no conventions for months, might as well sew…
